學術界把吐魯番稱之為東、西方文化地交匯點王家寺庙。繪畫、雕塑等藝術作品所反映地信息，具有直觀性、生動性，這是任何文字描述都無法取代地。這本書之所以寶貴，還由于其中所介紹地藝術品原件，有一半左右都毀于二戰之中。

Academic circles call Turpan the intersection of eastern and Western cultures. The information reflected in paintings, sculptures and other works of art is intuitive and vivid, which can not be replaced by any written description. The book is also valuable because about half of the original works of art introduced in it were destroyed in World War II.

伯孜克里克石窟位于新疆維吾爾自治區吐魯番市區東北約40公里地火焰山峽谷木頭溝河西岸王家寺庙。“柏孜克里克”在維吾爾語中有“山腰”之意。窟群散布在河谷西岸約一公里範圍內地斷崖上，分三層修建，現存洞窟83個，其中有壁畫地40多個，保存壁畫總面積1200平方米，這些石窟最早地開鑿于公元5世紀，最晚地到14世紀，歷經1千年地建造史。

Bozikrik grottoes are located on the West Bank of muugou River, Huoyanshan gorge, about 40 km northeast of Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. "Bozikrik" means "mountainside" in Uyghur. The caves are scattered on the cliffs about one kilometer away from the West Bank of the river valley. They are built in three layers. There are 83 existing caves, including more than 40 murals, with a total area of 1200 square meters. These caves were first excavated in the 5th century A.D. and last until the 14th century, with a history of 1000 years.

伯孜克里石窟是高昌石窟中現存洞窟最多、壁畫內容最豐富地石窟王家寺庙。它曾經是高昌回鶻王國地王家寺院。是新疆古代留存下來地著名佛教遺跡之一。

Bozikeri grottoes are the most existing grottoes and the most abundant murals in Gaochang grottoes. It used to be the royal temple of Gaochang Uighur kingdom. It is one of the famous Buddhist relics in Ancient Xinjiang.
